## Overview & Interaction
- The user types an intrusive thought (e.g. "I am going to fail", "Everyone is judging me") or selects a clinical preset thought.
- The thought is placed onto an SVG-rendered botanical leaf (rotating across Willow, Oak, Birch, Maple, and Beech leaf varieties).
- The leaf drifts down a continuous, undulating river stream and floats off-screen, visually demonstrating that thoughts arise, move, and pass away.
- A session counter tracks thoughts released, opening an interactive history drawer for reflective review.
- After releasing multiple thoughts, users can view an ACT conclusion and reflection card.

## Psychological Mechanics
- **Cognitive Defusion (Masuda & Hayes et al. 2004)**: In cognitive fusion, individuals experience thoughts as objective, immediate reality demanding defense or panic. Visualizing the thought on an external object flowing away creates psychological distance, teaching the brain that thoughts are transient mental events rather than imminent physical threats.
- **Non-Judgmental Mindfulness**: Instead of suppressing thoughts (which causes rebound rumination), users simply acknowledge the thought and watch it depart without engaging in mental debate.
